Default Painting and putting shelf liner in....

all my kitchen drawers and cabinets. I've had more fun in the dentist office. I'm done with the bottom cabinets and the drawers. Now the trash closet has paint on the ceiling and I'll paper it tomorrow. Then it's the pantry and the 2 cabinets above that.....on to the top cabinets next...... . I am really looking forward to the end of this job....what a mess it makes. Anyone else doing any home improvements?

Did you take all the doors off? I'm going to be doing that soon. Not fun, not fun at all.

When we do this type of project we charge big big bucks! So smile as you realize how much your saving by doing it yourself!

Laurie would you give me an idea of what this would be costing me so I can 'appreciate' it more while I do it....? I am actually going to pay a guy to refinish the fronts of the doors and drawers as I really hate to varnish.

Jaded I didn't take the doors off b/c the wood trim around the doors doesn't need to be painted, it's stained. So I'm just doing the insides. I did remove the drawers to paint them though.

All I can say is that I am sending good vibes to you!! I would rather work trash detail on the side of a major highway than put shelf paper in!!!

    Hang in there.

In my mind it would depend on what shape they're in. If they can easily be washed and clean right up then I wouldn't unless you figure while you're painting you might as well and just do the whole job...have it all nice, new and fresh at once. Mine hadn't been painted in about 40 years so it was time....

The last time we did cabinets it was a whole week project. From cleaning, sanding, priming and 2 coats of semi-gloss oil. We did inside, including shelves, outside total face, 2 large uppers, 4 large lowers and 4 drawers.
Total cost was $3,000.00. All wizzyroller and brush work no spray.
Installed new hardware being knobs and hinges.

So relish the fact that your saving alot.
