I don't have that brand but ds just bought his first vac a boss power one in the $145 range, who'd a thunk it at age 21 but he did! He loves it and rents it out for a fee to his housemates (living in a house with fellow collegemates). He is amazed at the way it "sucks stuff up".
How's that for a glittering advertisment?! lol

I just bought this one http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=59031442 [/URL]weeks ago. I love it. It has picked up more than any vacuum I have ever owned. The only thing is the beater brushes are loud, but I guess they are doing their job.

Of the different vacuums i have used:
Hoover Windtunnel - This has good suction and the hose and attatchments are easy to use without taking the whole machine apart. The indicator lights work well and measure the particulate matter that gets pulled up. I simply vacuum till the light turns green. It is a little loud and of moderate weight and it does need a bag.
Kirby - this is heavy cast aluminum, It's suction is incredible and the adjustments for height let it sit right where it should in relation to the carpet. Downside is that in order to use any hand attachments you need to break the whole front of the unit down to its components. This is the PITA of them all, so I tend to pull out my little Shark to get the corners. This is a very expensive piece of equipment but i know people who have had theirs for 30 years. It can be used for shampooing carpet and furniture but i haven't tried it yet. The bags are pricey though I have found knockoff bags cheap.
Oreck - The models i have used are the lightweight upright they pick up very well and are easy to maneuver. With it they sell a companion canister vacuum with a hose attachment for the corner/crevice work. I like using it.
I have no idea what the cost of bag replacement is.
Dyson - No bag. Good suction and pick up. A little on the heavy side but the style with the "roller ball" is very easy to maneuver. The hose telescopes into the frame but is fairly easy to access when needed and the hose attachments clip on the front of the machine. Easy to empty the canister and the filters are easy to get the dust off. I like this one too
All of the vacuums i've had the opportunity to use have been less than 5 yrs old so i can't speak of how well they will hold up (except for the Kirby) beyond that.

I love my tri-star so much that when I saw one on a trash pile I brought it home too. It needed a new hose. My "pig" as DH calls it has been around going on 25 years now. Dh hates it but since he doesn't vaccum he lets me conitinue to use it. I use it both at home and on my cleaning jobs.
When DS moved out 5 years ago he bought a pig too. I got it last year when they went with one of these automatic vaccums. Now I have 3!!!!
Love them,

I have a Dyson not sure of the model # but it's the one for animal hair. LOVE it! I've had it for almost 3 years and have never had a problem with it. The suction is great and I love that it's bagless and that there are no filters to replace. It's a little pricey, but with having 2 dogs....well worth it.

I have this Bissell: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HS28AA/102-3905242-9671348"]Amazon.com: Bissell 3910 Momentum Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner: Kitchen & Dining[/ame]
Just $99 with free shipping. I had $45 in gift certificates, so just $45 for me!
I love it so far. I'm a very clean person (and no pets or anything), but even I had to empty the container before even getting all the way through my bedroom in my old apartment! I like that it's bagless, and even more that it has a washable filter.
The ONLY downside I've found so far is that it's a bit top-heavy and likes to tip over when I use the hose bit. But eh.

I have the Eureka Optima Upright. It's the lime green vacuum with the round handle. It's very lightweight and picks up my German Shepherd's dog hair like you wouldn't believe. I love it. Best vacuum I've ever had. Here is the link that shows/describes my vacuum.

I have a Dyson that I just got about a month ago. It's the pink version and I absolutly love it. I think it was worth the money to get one.

We have the Hoover EmPower & have had it for 4 yrs. I like it well enough. I wish the attachments were easier to use. I have to unplug the hose & attach the attachments every time. I wish there were a separate hose for the attachments so I could just grab it & go as I'm vacuuming rather than stopping to unattach/reattach something.
It's easy to empty (bag-less) although the Hepa filters are a little on the pricey side.

I have a Bissell Powerforce. I hate it. It takes bags, and it always gets clogged. I'm buying myself a new one ina month or two!

I've got a Hoover that's about 18 years old. It uses bags but their cost isn't too bad. The attachments are easy accessible and I've only replaced the belt about 4 times. It seems to do the job so until I start having problems with it I guess I'll continue to use it.

I have an Oreck that I absolutely love. It's by far the lightest vacuum I've ever used, and the cord is long enough that I can plug it in an outlet in the middle of the house and reach both ends of the house without having to switch outlets. I've been very impressed with it.
I've thought about getting a Dyson if I ever need another vacuum, but I've had two bagless ones in the past that I just thought were disgusting. I prefer having all the dirt/dust in a bag that I can just toss in the garbage can.~Amanda~

It's my personal opinion, but I would not buy a Eureka vacuum..... local factory was bought out by parent company of Eureka and closed the plant elimination 1000+ jobs in that plant as well as supporting businesses. They moved the production to Mexico so they could pay a few dollars an hour compared to the union jobs of $15 an hour. Unemployment in the rate soared to 12% and displaced many workers, and unfortunately Michigan couldn't afford to lose any more jobs.
Unfortunately because of its rural location, many people relied on the production work to last forever, therefore many of them never completed high school or obtained a GED. They were just thankful to have a decent paying job and to have it fall out on them was devastating. I know I'm ranting, and I know they aren't the first company to do that, but this time it hit too close to home.
Roomie has a "cheapie" Kenmore upright (bought at Kmart because Sears and Kmart are affiliated with one another). It's a hunk of crap!!! It's made noises ever since she got it. Yeah, maybe it's her fault a bit, but it sure gets clogged easily.
Once we move, I'm not sure what I'll get. I'll have to wait and see what kind of carpet/floors we have in our new place.Kim
