    Default Anyone Else Do This?

So, I'm home today, but I have some things that need to get done, like laundry.

So, I set mini-goals and mini-rewards for myself. Part of this is just because I'm bored to tears when I'm not at work, but part of it also helps to organize my time.

Like, I enjoy the opening schtick of Regis and Kelly, but don't care much for the rest of the show. So, from 9:00-9:20, I watched the show. Then, I put in some laundry and emptied the dishwasher. Then, I decided to make my post office run since there is nothing on that I like at 10 (I know this won't be a popular opinion, but I HATE Rachel Ray). I enjoy "Hot Topics" on the View, so right now I'm watching that, and then I'm going to get started on some baking.

If I get the baking done, I'll reward myself with some reading time, etc.

    Anyone else?

I do that--- "If you do one sink of dishes, you can read for 1/2 hour, etc." It's good to have motivation!

P.S. I HATE RACHEL RAY! She is obnoxious, IMHO!

I do it all the time. I make a list and then I'll start with one room. when that's done I get to watch 1/2 hour of my shows (I DVR them) then I do another room, more shows etc..

Maybe we should just start a "hate rachel ray" thread because I cannot tolerate her at all!

I can't do this, because once I take my first reward I never go back to work. Some days I do everything that I'm 'scheduled' to do and relax when I'm done. Some days I do nothing (like today, and yesterday, and the day before...)

I don't know Rachel Ray, so no comment on that.

I have to do all the work first or the work will never get done.

LOL, doing it right now. A cup of tea and 15 minutes computer for decluttering the bedroom. Then it's off to fold laundry. When that is done I get 15 minutes reading.

    I think that's a great idea.

Honestly, if it weren't for the "little things" in life... where would most of us be?

I know I'd be staring at a mountain of laundry, a sink full of dishes, a house to clean/vacuum, food to prepare... etc etc etc

I need my little things to help keep me going.

Yes, I did the grocery shopping this morning, then I get lunch and computer time. Next I will clean the kitchen, do laundry and pay bills. Then I get to read or craft before making dinner. It's all about balance!

    I agree with the above.
I do this too. Rewards are the best.
For me mostly it's, if I get this done
I can play more on the computer.

If I was home for the day I would need a list or I will be lost without it. I wouldn't have any idea the where the logical place to start would be. If it is written down I can organize it. I get satisfaction from seeing the tasks crossed off.

    BTW - I don't like RR either.

Yes I need to do this as far as setting aside time periods to do things. Otherwise I get confused and feel like I am going in circles. Also I try to get as much cleaning done early since this is my least favorite thing.
