Default Do you have yearly goal to turn on/off heat?

I try to wait till Nov.1 to turn it on and shut it off on May1. Its only a goal, but ofcourse if we get super cold weather or hot weather we adjust.
We are on the budget plan with our propane company so it stays the same all year, till early summer when we have to settle up. Most the time we have a credit.

My goal is to keep it off as long as I possibly can here. This morning I could have had it on, but refused to do so. I just snuggled more in my blankets and we all dressed warmer this morning.

In the spring, I leave it on until May 1, but as low as I possibly can from about the middle of March until then. We again just dress warmer.

My Goals would be Nov.1 for the heat and May 15 for cooling but dh won't tolerate it. When he's home it has to be warmer/cooler, but the rest of the time I turn it up/down to conserve....he complains though.... .

we wait as long as we can too. we all have heated matress pads or electric blankets. it has been chilly these last couple days, but nothing we can't tolerate. we just dress warmer too. we also have a wood burning stove, so that helps with not running the furnace as much! we never have to pay for wood. we have almost 2 acres of woods, and there is always a dead tree somewhere we can use.....or we get wood from hubby's parents. actually, i think my parents are giving us a tree that had to cut this year too. so, to keep from rambling on anymore....i think we are set this winter.
