Default woohoo! The basement storage area is done!!!!!

Some of you may remember my whinefest "I don't know where to start" Thread about my basement! Well I followed the tips you all gave me, and lo and behold I have gone through every single box. I have gotten rid of:

3 garbage bags of clothing - donated
29 cardboard boxes - emptied and recycled
4 large clear garbage bags - recycled paper
6 garbage bags garbage going to dump

I have also made 2 enormous boxes or re-sellable stuff for our yard sale this summer as well as a high chair and playpen

Here is what I have left:
    A shelf full of HBAs
A shelf full or craft supplies
A shelf full of decorative things to put out in my home
A large box of old photos
A box of very special baby clothes I cannot part with
A box of treasured papers - report cards, letters and special cards
6, yes 6 boxes of Christmas decorations
4, yes 4, boxes of Halloween decorations
A shelf of linens to be brought into use when my current ones need replacement (tea towels, dish cloths, etc.)
    my 3 Christmas trees
A tub and two bags of gift wrapping supplies
a big box of foo-foo hair accessories
a shelf of gifts for various occasions

Thank you for all your advice - you helped me out immeasurably.

This week I am going through the 3 boxes of handme down clothes and bring more from upstairs. I am going to wash them and sort them by size.

WOOOOW I feel good, like I knew that I would (that's my James Brown imitation!)

Good Job! That sounds like it was a huge project for you. I need your motivation to tackle my closets and our free storage in the basement this year .

Gee, only 6 boxes of Christmas decorations! lol I had 8 left after I purged mine this year. My one big suggestion to you now would be, take those photos and start to book them up. Mark them as to who and where and when. Do it now before they get ruined by moisture and before you forget whos in those pictures. As family historian in my family nothing is worst then having wonderful family memories stolen by time and weather. Also now during the winter monthes is the best time to do it. Come sping and summer you'll want to be out and about.
