vacuum cleaners
I had to go and buy a new vacuum just now. My old one is terribly clogged and I am thinking I will let Dh work on it but if it is a loss then it was worth what I paid for it 1 1/2 years ago. You see it got me thinking about all of these high end vacuum cleaners and what the better deal really is. I have 3 kids one of them 2 years old and they will always manage to get something on the floor that will make a vacuum cleaner stink so I presonally choose not to spend hundreds on a vacuum just yet. I prefer what I call disposable vacuums. You know the ones that you can find the day after thansgiving for under $40! I got one today at walmart that was on sale for "spring cleaning" for $33.75. It is a name brand and from experience I expect it will preform very well for about 1-2 years and then I shall have to replce it. But if I spent say $400 on one well that would be equal to 10+ of the disposable vacs. That is my reasoning behind my madness. When my kids are older I may invest in something nicer but until then I am proud to say that I just bought a new vac for $33!!!!

Sounds like you got a good buy!!! When my kids were little my hubby would stop by any garbage out by the road if he saw a vacuum cleaner. He would then bring them home and fix them, so we survived for years using other peoples trash.

My mother bought me a Dyson for Christmas 2007 (but gave it to me in October 2007). I have 6 dogs. I can honestly say this vacuum is amazing. I can't believe the hair it picks up. We also have a wood stove. My Dyson cuts down on the amount of dust in my home too. I realize that technically my Dyson was free, but so far it is definitely worth the money spent. My sister agrees with me. We would both spen $399.00 for a Dyson.

I also LOVE my Dyson...I would never ever go back to the cheap ones I used to buy every other year. Especially after what I see my Dyson picks up...eeewwwww.
Well worth the money in my book."We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
