    Default Speaking of Flinging....

I saw a cute looking book by Peter Walsh, (I didn't buy it, THAT would just be more clutter! LOL!) but it looked funny and right to the point for ME, anyway.

The title is 'Does this Clutter make my Butt look Fat?' In it (apparently) he talks about how you (almost) never see anyone with a neat, clean house that isn't skinny. And vice versa. There are exceptions, but I find that holds true (with ME anyway ).

Lately having been in the middle of a major overhaul, flinging and flunging, and cleaning and organizing, ...........after raising two boys and all the JUNK that collected.........I realized that I had given up somewhere along the way (I use to be such a neat nik!) and threw in the towel when I realized I was NEVER going to keep up with the clutter and mess, either that, or be one of those screaming Banshee moms that always has to have an immaculate house. (I preferred to have my kids sane).

And don't get me wrong, my house was CLEAN, and fairly neat where you could SEE it, but don't open a closet, or (God forbid) go down to the basement!

So--my 'butt' got bigger and bigger. And I can tell you that the de-cluttering I've been doing lately would have been better for weight loss than ALL of the diets and exercise plans I've started and not been able to keep up with. WHAT was I thinking? :surprise: I could have done this while the kids were at school. I was SO lazy (and now fat). I have no excuse.

I am always flinging stuff and no big butt for me either, lol. I am not a perfectionist or neat freak but like you I have many things but I wouldn't call them clutter. My downstairs is always neat and upstairs fairly neat, lol... my basement wash area I would say is the worst, it has boxes of Christmas stuff and Halloween stuff and it's the messiest room in the house (Thank goodness no one really goes down there).

I could be neater and now that I know it could make my butt smaller, I might have to give it a try.

Well I wish I had one of those houses... picture perfect like the decorating magazines, but I don't like to clean. Can think of at less 50 things I'd rather be doing! Exercising & yard work are in there. Add my love of stuff, collections & such... well I've really let some areas get cluttered, but its not hopeless. I'm trying to declutter, but find it hard to let go of stuff... its an "on going process". I think this has more to do with my personality than the size of my jeans. Anyway I'm a small (anywhere from 4 to 7) & I have my problem areas... cleaning, organizing & body type wise!

I love Clean Sweep...but, I've often said there is no way would I ever let them into my house ! I am a collector and I love my stuff and that's just the way it is!!! My butt has gotten a wee bit wider, but hubby loves it all the same !
