During my kitchen re-do, I got rid of all but about 3 coffee cups
b/c I wasn't drinking coffee, yet. Gripey would drink it on the weekends but we rarely have another coffee drinker here. So I thought, ok, get rid of all the odds and ends cups and the ones that went to a set of dishes that the finish didn't 'feel right' on. (They were cheap dishes) Anyway since then I've become quite the coffee drinker. I now find myself standing in the thrift store, rummaging through the coffee cups (!). I've replenished the original supply but with nice cups whereas the others were just 'plain ol' cups, kwim? Anyway these cups that I've bought recently are things that I really like for one reason or another. The other day for a dime I bought one that looked like a page from our local newspaper. The funny thing is that I had donated one that looked almost just like it about a year ago.......
Doesn't make much sense but at least I'm not paying full price for the insanity, right?
Ever do anything that makes this little sense, money wise?

well good for you for getting nicer things.

i'm all for treating yourself to nice things when it's earned.
oh well on spending a little more money for stuff you've already donated... BUT for a DIME! You're probably buying a dozen mugs before you spend full price on ONE elsewhere!
I like to spend money on my crafts.
Like the salvage bins and sale stuff... sometimes I dont have an idea in mind I just love the salvage SO much I've gotta have it.
*bad me!*
i usually try to get things for an idea or project, but every now & then i'll spend pennies to a dollar on salvage for little projects.

A lady said to me recently in a thrift store that I frequent...."my husband told me to be sure to mark the things I donate so I don't buy them again later"....I thought that was funny till I bought that mug...

I love different kinds of mugs! Depending on my mood, I might pull out a big sassy one, or one that is more calming looking. We have mugs with various sayings on them that kind of "speak" for us. It's fun to let the grandkids pick out a mug for us, and see which one they think we ought to be using.
