I managed to get about half the Christmas serving dishes/plates/etc. cleaned up last night before I ran out of steam. I need to finish that this morning, so I can have a nice, clean kitchen again. I managed to keep the trash fairly well-contained yesterday. Everyone was good about bagging up their garbage (wrapping paper and such) and getting into one area, so other than the kitchen (and the upstairs bedroom, where I dumped all the clutter), the house looks pretty good.

It's nice my Mom was here. She and DH cleaned up after the large meal today and DH packed up everything nicely for future meals. I was dead tired after cooking all day for 16 people, so it will be nice to wake up tomorrow morning with a clean kitchen!

Wow, that WILL be nice!
The Christmas faeries missed my house, and I woke up to the same pile I left when I went to bed. Oh, well....

Got the last of the Christmas dishes washed up, so now I just have to figure out where to store them.

Brought one load of laundry up from the laundry room. Will fold and put it away tomorrow.

Didn't do much yesterday. Brought up some more clean laundry and did a load of wash. Need to fold and put away everything now.

11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I was thinking about how I could do this challenge.
I think I will do a location a month house divide into 12 locations
I will start with the Living room as that is the room everyone see the most.
I will clean that room from top to bottom for the month. I am starting today but it is really my January 2009 room.

My decision to "clear a little spot" for holiday stuff has turned into a major cleaning overhaul of both my walk-in closet and one storage area in my wall. (I have several kind of odd, sort of hidden, storage areas with doors in the walls of the upstairs floor of the house. They are not super convenient, so I am trying to use them for stuff I want to keep, but that I don't use much. Right now, they have been junk collectors. So junk is being pulled out and separated into three piles: keep, give away, throw away.

Hauled out a bunch of Freecycle stuff. Got about 1/2 the Christmas stuff stored away in its new storage area. Took six bags of garbage to the dump!
