WOW what an undertaking the closet was.
This closet is a spare closet in our Master bedroom. (our main closet is about 10 foot long and we each have our own door and this is an extra closet in the room.)
Just to clarify DH and I have only been married 8 years.
This is where DH has lots of paperwork and extra crap he does not know what to do with. I did not even know what was all in this closet.
Let just say who needs tax forms from 30 years ago.
Who needs receipts from the 1980"s
Who needs stuff that got wet and is ruined.
Who needs paper work from your father who died in 1984.
I guess my DH thinks he does.
I swear he saved everything that looked important and then never went back through and go rid of it.
Well guess what he does not need it if he has not looked at it in the last 8 years he doesn't need it.
It is done except for all of the shredding that I have to do.
The computer desk is done except for his little cubby hole that he needs to go through and file his stuff.
Maybe I will help him with that so he gets it done.
If I start maybe he will come along and finish it.

I did find all of the cards and letters that I sent him when we were dating. He kept them all.
I did not throw those out. Instead I took a card out and stuck it under his pillow. Well see if he finds it.

DH added another project today. I wanted help clearing out the top shelves of the kitchen cupboards. I'm very short and I can't reach them anyway, so why have stuff up there? I wanted to either move the stuff or simply get rid of it. In most cases I opted to get rid of it. However, we have a large kitchen and I was only able to finish one wall of cupboards.

I told DH I needed to stop and think about the other walls before doing them...there is so much stuff in those cupboards. So he, brilliant man he is, suggests we go through all the spices and condense and organize them better! Where did this man come from???!

So we spent an hour doing just that. I have my own spices, spices from closing down my mom's home, spices from DD#1 when she moved this spring, spices from a friend and her mom...a lot of spices...

In the end I typed up all the spices we had in what containers and posted it on the inside of the cupboard door. Here's the finished job. The spices are the bottom shelf and left hand side of the middle shelf (in the two shoe boxes). I told DH we'll be cooking a lot of spicy food for awhile!

    OK - I feel guilty.

DG - DC and Peanut have all finished projects. Congrats to all of you.

The cupboard looks great peanut. I am tall but still keep a step stool in my kitchen for the top shelf of my cupboards. I won't let the space go to waste!!

This is the week I DIG in the basement. A friend even called about some shelving she found that was really cheap, so may change the area but I will be down there!!

DIG away FF!!....but don't forget to come up for air and visiting us once in a while

Love that so many have finished their January projects!!
Will be working on my paperwork more throughout the week and should be done this weekend - won't that be nice!!

My next project will be to turn the computer armoire in our living room which DD and I bought for DH to use as his work station - he turned into storage.......well, while he is in STL, I am going to clean it out and use it for my desk!! I am so excited and he won't mind, as long as I don't throw any of his treasures away!!

Wonder if madhen is visiting her mom? Something's up because she wouldn't just drop out of view like this - we always know where she is or will be.

WOW some of you are already done with your month's project. WAY TO GO

I'm in on this one challenge too. I've got a lot planned for 2010. I'm definately going to be useing this challenge for the easily pushed off things.

For January there are several things on my to do list but the one of the ones most likely to get pushed off is to get my "work table" back in the bedroom. This is a table I intentionally set up to scrapbook or finish off small projects or wrap ect. It is currently still under the leftover Christmas mess. I WILL get it cleaned off and either accomplish a couple of scrap book pages or finish up one of the small projects shoved in the closet.

Woo hoo!! I just scheduled the delivery of my new bookcase from IKEA. I was beginning to worry that it wasn't going to get delivered this month. The bookcase will be delivered sometime on Saturday, so I'll finish my project then!

    Congrats to the project finishers!

My bedroom decluttering project---today I opened the closet door and looked in. Maybe tomorrow I will take something out I am just totally overwhelmed by my closet. I sure wish I could afford to hire a professional organizer.
