Okay girls! Igot a new "Check This Out" post for you! It's a crafty project, and I think it's so worth sharing with you guys!

How to Make Hanging Baskets at WomansDay.com - Hanging Basket Craft Project

So opinions please? Is that neat, or what? And I'm sure you could easily use different shaped, or fabric baskets too.

Okay girls! Here's our latest Trash to Treasure" project. It's called "Kitchen Klonker Kreativity". You'll need to dig out your "one of a kind" plates, tea pots, cups & saucers, and even old silver-ware. You might also need a candle stick or two. Here's some inspiration for you. Or by all means use your own ideas. >>

On this 1st one, I really like the 2nd one down. I just so happen to have a small, white oval platter, that I plan on painting olive green, and stencilling ~WELCOME~ in Italian, and hanging it over my dining room doorway. My hubby will LOVE it! And to think I almost gave that platter away!

The link for this shows doing it in fabric, but I've done this with magazine cut-outs. when you go thru your magazines, look for those full page ads for collectors plates. They work very nice. Or again, scrapbook papers would work too! Get creative, and make more than one using several co-ordinating papers.

or you can just stencil your monogram. be sure to use primer 1st.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
Another idea i was thinking is using stamping designs, or other stencils. I really love anything done in black & white brocade, or really any color combo brocade for that matter. Need to check out some stamps at Joann's.

I lost the link somewhere , but there was one lady who took a huge silver platter that had very ornate edging, painted it white, had her hubby cut out a centered circle, and used it for a ceiling medallion. It looked great. Of course she "found" the platter for just a couple of bucks. Lucky her!

Now remember, you don't HAVE to do this project. It's just for fun. I hope you like the ideas, and create something out of your stash.

    Enjoy it!

I want to show you an idea I have that was inspired from one of our Trash to Treasure projects...Turn plates into mirrors.

I have been wanting these mirrors for months now>>>>>

JCPenney : Set of 3 Round Wall Mirrors

Needless to say, they're "budget busters"! But, but, but! I came across this awesome architctural site, and found these pretty babies!

    http://search.architecturaldepot.com.../index?filters[category]=Ceiling%20Medallions&filters[price]=*%2010

...AND, I'll probably pick one of these >

    10"OD x 6 1/8"ID x 1/2"P Andrea Ceiling Medallion by ArchitecturalDepot.com

    OR>>
    8"OD x 3 7/8"ID x 1/2"P Daniela Ceiling Medallion by ArchitecturalDepot.com

There's a few more I'm in love with, but of course you get the picture....and the picture of the cheapo prices didn't get by you either, right? And so you understand why I'm a "happy camper" too, dontcha?

Now, I know for a fact that those small circular mirrors are SUPER cheap down at Joann's. And I know the glass won't be bevelled, but I'm thinking for 3 ceiling medallions, and 3 mirrors, it shouldn't run me more than $20 for the whole project. Of course I have to stain or paint them....but that's the fun part, kwim?

Well, just thought it would be fun to talk about here. Nobody here at home gets overly excited about by my ideas Oh well! I can live with that... I might even still be nice and feed them! Ha!

So what about you crafty gals? Anything brewing in the ideas department? Just add it here. Would love to hear about it!

I forgot to mention that those appliques can be found even cheaper. Try doing a google, ok?

I haven't decided yet. Either the living room or hallway. That seems like the only two places that it will work. DH bought me the hooks to hang it last night but left them in the car and has to work late... so it won't get done today. Darn.

I did what I could in the bathroom last week when I was on my cleaning/organizing streak.

[vent] dh never did finish remodeling our bathroom and there is still unfinished tiles and other stuff. Arrrgggggg! So I hate my bathroom and do the best I can with it. [/vent]

On the back of my toilet I have a pretty towel with my Bath and Body Works lotion. I have a Paris pic and some angel pics with matching toothbrush holders and a simple candle. A cool light with scents on top of the cabinet. There is a lot of tiles so only a little room to hang stuff. The colors are blue, grey, gold, taupe, and white. blah.

I have no clue what else to do with it. I was thinking a new shower curtain would help.
