I talked to them today and they have four for me. They said they are looking for a more Italian theme. Good.

I'm sure you will find the right spot.
I hung my last two ones tonight. They ended up in the bedroom on a narrow space on the wall which they fit perfectly. I moved the pic that was there in the bathroom and I really like the new look. Love small changes.
My toddler noticed them in my room and pointed and said...... wow. Heh Guess he likes them. lol

MM, the name of the adhesive product for hanging things w/o nails is COMMAND by MM. It really is amazing stuff, and I'm wanting to look into it also.
But anyhow, I came across this site for hanging art/pictures. It looks like it should be able to answer any questions you might have for creating a great space with your pictures.
If you look at the ~12 ways to display your art~ section, you see so many different things to hang besides pictures. I LOVE #7 and #12. I always loved hanging plates, and #12 is an idea I always go for, using all the same color frames idea works every time. The room just ~flows~ so much better that way.
Hope you enjoy this>> Wall Art
So, have fun MM. And fill us in on your picture hanging ideas.

Good is right!
As a matter of fact, I'd encourage them to redecorate more often
And hey! If a toddler says WOW, you know you did something right!!
You sound really happy!

and btw, it's great that you found that perfect wall for your last two. i love it when that happens...especially on a narrow wall. any pictures for us palooka?

Okay, so I'm wondering...after talking with Palooka about our love of pictures, and I'm sure I've mentioned being named the ~Lamp Lady~, I'm wondering if anybody else has what I'll call an "obsessive collection"? In other words, acquiring decorating items that you might, or might not have a place for, but you couldn't resist not owning it. I have never counted them, (but maybe I should), the amount of lamps, pictures, and clocks that I HAVE to HAVE, and have no intention of giving up any time soon!
Do you think this is "hoarding", or maybe just satisfying that "need" to be able to redecorate anytime I might want to?
Or maybe I don't want the answer...

So does anybody else do this? Do you have a closet full of curtains, or maybe tea pots, that you just can't live without? I know Flylady would have my head if she ever found me
, but.....
I'm not the only one, right ladies?

Snort, that made me laugh. lol Yes, they have money so I hope they change their minds every season.
Works for me.
Can't take a pic of them now because dh is asleep in the room and I'm on the couch, but I will soon. Yeah, it's just a small wall space from my closet to the bathroom entrance in our room. It was a perfect fit.
Can't wait until Monday to post the new to me pics. I remember one but not the other three. Cool freebies! Yes!!!

No Mamamia, you are not the only one!! I collect teapots and boxes....not to any great extent - just those that tickle my fancy - oh and I collect fabric and I am sure a million other things that I will have to think about - oh and shells...and......
Loved the trim ideas - and I will need to use the current lampshades since there is no money available. So as soon as I can find anything in my sewing room I'll know better what I have to work with. But just think of all the treasures I'll find!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

It would be a privilege and honor if I was called the Lamp lady.
Lamps rock and can make a house so cozy and set the atmosphere. Pictures too and only a little fan of clocks. I don't think it's hoarding because it's good stuff.
To be honest I don't. I wouldn't mind if I did though. Just don't have the space, but I wish I did.

AHA! Thanks Palooka! You got me wondering about something else that might be fun to ask everybody ..
Since I guess it's pretty much understood that Palooka and I think that lamps have a BIG impact on the decorating of a room, what might you take extra time to add to your doing a room, because it's your "icing on the cake" for you?
Besides lamps, I'll probably say curtains. I'll try my best to get the most for my budget as possible. Ladies here like MM and baxjul, have the talent to make their's look as unique as they want. I would've loved to have seen baxjul's burlap ones, as well as her yellow kitchen ones she made in the 1st challenge. And MM, I can only begin to imagine what you'd come up with after thgat wastebasket cover! Of all things...LOL That was so unique. So yeah, talent at the machine could go a LONG way with window ideas.
So tell us. Just what wouldn't feel right for your putting together your overall scheme if you didn't include it?

Hmm. I'll join this, I think. I have painted my door, years ago, it could likely use a touch up by now. I DO have pots of pansies around the door, and a decorative and colorful something ON the door, but at a minimum, I need to give the storm door its annual cleaning/polish with armor all, it gets dull looking during the winter.
I wonder if I can get DH to take a before/after pics?
I bought a new doormat this spring and used new pots for the pansies, I was already working on this, I wonder what else I can come up with?
Thanks!

Hi Judi, and welcome aboard! Your front door project sounds really pretty with your flowers and new mat.
My doors need a paint touch up too . I am not letting this week go by w/o doing it, and adding my flowers, which by the way were bought a week ago
. I do have to paint my flower pots too. That should be the fun part.
But yes, by all means, we'd love to see your before/after pictures. Not only are they fun to see, but (at least in my case
), they usually also give some needed inspiration!

our front door desperately needs painting - when Italked with our maintenance man, he said that all the doors were going to be painted - that was in March, early March. Think I need to get back to them.
????? would armorall work to clean up screen doors too? Ours need some help!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Oh My Gosh did I miss a lot! I've got to take some time and go back and read all these post.
Theresa, Those polka dot plates I wanted to make for my niece, well, she just informed me she HATES polka dots, oh and the color teal!!! So I guess those are out. LOL!
The grandmother whose recipes I listed passed away about 20 years ago. This is my Dad's Mom. The party was wonderful and she seemed to really enjoy her day. And I never knew that about the salad course, how about that!
Finally through this holiday weekend and back to the front door challenge. I've got to get those boxes bagged and in the trash first then I figure it needs a good sweeping to get rid of the cobwebs. After that I'm not sure, I can't spend any money so it needs to be things I have on hand. The front porch does not really get enough light for plants, but I've got tons of plastic pots. Still thinking about maybe hanging something on the door, I just don't know what. I made the scrap fabric wreath for the kitchen door, but I don't have enough scrap faric to make another one for the front door. Any ideas for a door decoration?~~~
