Great progress MW! How did it go with the realtor Thursday?
acabin42 - welcome, from this challenge's official worst participant. But I find it's motivating to see all the lists being checked off, or growing as things are done.
I haven't posted anything because I haven't done anything. Weekends, I mostly sit at work. Not doing anything here either. The library is empty. Three workers. Maybe two or three patrons, none on the main floor. I'll be checking FV a lot just to have something to do today.Donna

Acabin - so glad you joined us. You have an ambitious list - break it down into smaller steps if you want!!
MW - looks like you are down to the last of getting your home in shape. In a way, I am going to miss your inspirational lists, but know you will branch off into another area!! Would love to see pictures of your 'new home'!!
Donna - it's always good to hear your voice - don't think you are the worst participant - you're a participant with a twist!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Good, we go on the market Monday. She thinks it should move quickly, similar homes are selling within a week.
The only potential problem is the wiring has never been updated. We have to get an electrician to come in and inspect to make sure it is up to code, which unfortunately will take a couple weeks. Hopefully there are no issues and we can just pass inspection without any major work - or even better, get an offer from someone who doesn't care (unlikely, although our insurance company didn't).

Absolutely, acabin, just do what you can. It's supposed to be little jobs, not overwhelming. Mine has just been out of control the last couple weeks, but normally big tasks get broken down into smaller bites. Like if your decluttering jobs are big, they can be broken into 15 minutes of decluttering spread out several times over the week.

I spent today sewing!!
Cut, sewed and finished the top to one baby quilt!!
Finished Puritan costume #1
Did one load of laundry and noticed that DH is working on some more!!
That's about it for today - stayed glued to the sewing machine with a smile on my face!!
What did you get done today?Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Saturday:
6. Cut panelling - 3 pieces are not done
7. Install new panelling - 3 pieces are not done
8. Paint little room - first coat & finish near floor
9. Pick up another can of paint
10. Paint basement floor
11. Paint basement stairs
12. Post bucket of cement on freecycle
Sunday:
1. install remaining trim kitchen
2. Final painting little room
3. Touch up Cliff Rock
4. Pack out paint cans
5. Pack up paint supplies
6. Put down foam floor
7. Clean up garage
8. Top to bottom tidy
9. Dust livingroom
10. Wipe down bathrooms and kitchen
Yikes, paint is not dry on the basement floor and stairs. So many things that need to be done downstairs - even the trim for the kitchen is sitting in the basement. Not too bright, I should have taken everything upstairs last night.
Will try to concentrate on cleaning upstairs and hope it is dry by this afternoon.

Midday check-in
Saturday:
6. Cut panelling - 3 pieces are not done
7. Install new panelling - 3 pieces are not done
Sunday:
1. install remaining trim kitchen
2. Final painting little room
3. Touch up Cliff Rock
4. Pack out paint cans
5. Pack up paint supplies
6. Put down foam floor
8. Top to bottom tidy
9. Dust livingroom
10. Wipe down bathrooms and kitchen
No point to cleaning the livingroom/bathrooms/kitchen until after the kids go to bed.
The paint is still sticky on the stairs, I can tiptoe down to get stuff, but we can't work in that room yet. Going to be a long night.Last edited by monkeywrangler71; 05-02-2010 at 02:29 PM.

13. Make centers for turquoise afghan squares
14. Work: transcribe second focus group
15.Go by ATM
16. Clean out the lost and forgotten from fridge
The focus groups were March. A couple of weeks ago the Director asked if I had them finished -- they hadn't even given them to me yet. Then the guy in charge of them, the day I finally got them, asked if I could have them done that week. Uh, no. This is very slow, tedious work. They KNOW I can't do them in a week. And it's new tech this year. They went from tape to digital recorder. That good. But my work computer at the circ desk doesn't have sound. Period. It's all been in the misty past wiped off. The one I use in archives doesn't have the program I need for the transcription work. A public computer near the desk has all I need on it, but I have to crawl around on the floor to attach the headphones, something I really can't do with my arthritis. I finally just brought my own laptop in, one of the computer smart students downloaded the program I needed and showed me how to use it most effectively. It's been a headache from the beginning. It took the "week" just to work through all that. Anyway, clear sailing now!
Ok. End of Queen for a Day sob story. It's really a great job, but sometimes all this clever technology can sink the ship.Donna
