Unexpected wrinkle in my day. I was dragged out of bed at, for me, the unholy hour of 8:30. Maintenance was at my door - to take my door away. They were going to put in a new front door. They said they would be back in an hour to start so I showered, got myself decently attired, and I've been sitting here with the front door gone for the last hour or so. I am SO COLD. It's 40 and rainy outside and now it's 40 and damp inside. The guy is about finished so when he leaves, I'm heading out for the shopping. The place should be warm again by the time I get home. On half a night's sleep, I doubt I'll accomplish much else today.
But I'm really glad to have the new door, though I wasn't expecting it. I could see daylight through the old warped one. Weatherstripping helped but wasn't perfect. I will be at least a little snugger after this, though I still have two old windows and a glass patio door in the bedroom.
So Merry Christmas to me from the apartments, I guess! I'll be even happier about it when I stop shivering!Donna

I'm back from a much longer shopping expedition than I expected, and the house is toasty warm. I went by Michael's - a great rarity - and saw a bright cheery snowman mug on sale for .40. I thought that after my frigid morning I deserved it. It's full of steaming Earl Gray tea now and life can go on.
Moneywranger - when I pasted my list, the screen moved back so yours was centered, which I didn't notice. I started reading it and thought "grocery list?" Why did I put that on? I'm not going grocery shopping. Menu plan? Bake something???? For a second I thought I had fallen into the twilight zone, then had the sense to scroll back down. I think I need to go take a nap!
