Yesterday..I spend the day doing inventory on the clothes to donate. I'm so-o sick of handling these clothes. I took 26 tall kitchen size bags to Salvation Army. Still not done. NEVER again will I let stuff pile up this bad!! I have decided to put a bin in a hall closet and went anyone runs across something they no longer want, they can deposit it there and I will donate on a regualr basis. Hopefully this stops "stuff" from being stuffed somewhere and piling up. Well back to work.

Does anyone know how much you really save..percent wise..off taxes for donating clothing and household items?

Last night I took 5 more bags to St. Vincent de Paul. I picked up one bag of wool (they save wool for me).
This messy to marvelous challenge has parts of my house looking like a bomb went off. I figured if I am going to do it..I need to really clean it up and sort thru every item...so it really is clean and organized. Cleaned out 3 sheds, tearing one down.
Where are my friends? I am off camping again tomorrow with only one DD. Work on my quilting which is also my Christmas challenge while there. Then I have 3 days till school starts. Boo-hoo. Progress will certainly slow down but I am determined to move forward.

I'm here! LOL I am on vacation next week and will finish my garage. It was tooooo hot the week I had originally planned to do it. I am looking forward to finally getting it finished... I have closets I need to work on after I get the garage done, but one thing at a time...

tervsforme- Yippee! I am not alone. Had to go to school today to set up for opening. I did throw out 3 trash cans full of stuff. So I am going to count that as decluttering for day. I have a Smart Board this year..so I should get rid of most of my files. Problem is that I don't know how to use it yet. LOL Inherited lots of stuff in room and am also sharing room with another teacher so we really need to clean it out.
Good luck on finishing your garage. I am gone for a week with DD1 camping..no computer access..talk to you next Saturday PM. Thanks for keeping me motivated!

Three trash cans full of stuff, of course that counts as decluttering! Have a great week camping! Hopefully when you get back I will have my garage done!

Still not done with my garage, but did take a bunch of stuff to Salvation Army and more stuff in the trash. I have a few things I need to take down the basement and I am almost ready to start sweeping and be done! I can't wait!

Back from camping next morning hit with Irene. Now I can add to the list the yard..lost of branches and stuff thrown around. Dried up some yesterday so hopefully I can get a bunch of laundry done today and start to put some stuff away. Now I have emergency stuff, cmaping stuff on top of it all to deal with. I keep telling myself that I am lucky we did not flood and then I would really have something to complain about.
Today I am going to tackle the laundry, LR and DR again! Seems like I am going in circles. School starts in 2 days so I need to move fast to all least get some basic stuff done.
Tervsforme..way to go on your garage! I am so impressed. Now you have time to come help me lol
Thanks for hanging with me, all work now..no more play!

Well luckily for you it is just branches and you don't have water damage. I wish I could come help you, but once I'm done with the garage, I'm working on my closets, then I will have to tackle the basement. Everything I don't know what to do with is going down the basement, then I am going to open every box and sort and organize the basement. I don't forsee that being done until next summer...

Haven't read the entire thread but sounds like you are doing great. I love reading decluttering threads and success stories. Great job everyone.

Today I actually cleaned out 3 closets and organized them. I purged 2 lawn and garden hefty bags of clothes 4 the goodwill. I also started on the dreaded storage room going to take at least a week for the storage room . But I am finally going to tackle it. Personal problems are still unresolved but I am up and at it. Also emptied the cat box, picked up all the garbage upstairs, and swept and mopped the up stairs. so it was productive. Good luck to all with their decluttering. Oh how could I forget, I have a wedding in my back yard on Sept 17 and a baby shower Oct 8. Grandma wants to throw a party for her year of sobriety in Sept and my birthday is in Sept. I am going BONKERS! hugs ( not my kids , friends children)

Eskielover---great to have you aboard. You'll help keep us motivated.
Oheoh's---Wow! You are really on a roll, I'm so jealous.

Been busy just doing school work, new class and have to figure it all out.
My daughter (18) threw me a curve the night before school started and announced she was moving in with Dad. He is less strict and asks less questions. I am brokenhearted, worried, and feel betrayed. She has always lived with me. Three days later she has 2 piercings in lip. I just keep taking deep breaths and try not to cry non-stop.

Today, I actually cleaned kitchen, did 8 loads of laundry (not all put away) and started to clean her room and bathroom (she left it trashed and full of trash)

Tomorrow is a new day..sigh...want to get laundry put away, week of school clothes ironed and work some more in her room.

Check in tomorrow, see you then.
