We finished up the trailer, and got most of the stuff we took out put back in. The bad news: I forgot to put the step and leveler back inside when I put the roof down, so my husband raised the roof one inch so the door would open. As soon as the roof was up an inch, the lift cable snapped. The good news: It didn't snap when the roof was fully extended, which would have caused it to free-fall and would have definitely damaged something. It didn't snap when I was pushing in the canvas minutes before, when it could have trapped my arm under a 500+ pound roof and no doubt caused very serious injury. It could have snapped while we were on a trip and had no way to deal with the broken lifters. It could have snapped at the beginning of our work to de-mouse, clean, and secure the trailer, so we wouldn't have gotten that done. It could have snapped with the canvas all hanging out and left us with no way to put the canvas away and close the trailer. All in all, we're feeling very lucky. It's so late in the year, it's doubtful we'll get the lifters fixed this year so it's also good we don't have any solid vacation plans for the spring. At least, it's all closed up now and cleaned and hopefully, secure.
So that was our weekend. But I'm grateful we got done what we needed to do to keep the mice out of the trailer. We've inspected every inch again. If they get in now, we will be very surprised. And even more frustrated.
Tomorrow, we'll be taking out the window AC in my office so I can start the furnace. Other than that, I plan to take it easy and rest my sore back. I might wash up the comforters from the trailer so they can go into storage, just so they're out of the way.
We're also going to the North American Bear Center, which is offering free admission. We haven't been there yet so it should be fun.

I'm in for this week. I did a similar list for last week, except I ended up with 70 items to be done. I got 39 done, so it think I might be able to do 43 this week. I'm starting on Sunday (today) and ending next Saturday, and I'll just do what I can each day rather than follow the 12-10-8-4-2-1 plan.
Today's list:
1.do dailiesdone
2.walk 2 milesdone
3. work on garage 30 minutes
4. sand post
5. rake and mow front yard (weather permitting)
6. clean upstairs
7. finish photocopying pattern and pages from library book
8. trim house plant and bring indoors
9. cut down thrift store curtains and sew
10. enter yesterday's purchases into database
11. replace stripped screw in hinge
12. put up Halloween decoration

The AC is out of my office window and the furnace turned on, so there goes the propane bill through the roof.
Still have to cut my husband's hair and then take it easy the rest of the day to help out my sore back. We took advantage of Pizza Hut's $10 pizza deal, so no cooking for me. Yea!
Guess I'll be knitting or crocheting most of the day.
We did go to the North American Bear Center and it was actually impressive. Saw two of the fattest bears on the planet and really enjoyed all the exhibits they had. Very informative, even for people like us who have lived in bear country for decades. It's too bad everyone can't visit the NABC. It would put an end to a lot of the hysteria surrounding black bears.
