I made an album of pics showing what I've done so far in the house. Still some to upload, but this is a good start: http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/...appenings.html

Nice Job MyMel! Love the pics. The laundry room lettering is a nice touch. It looks like you have a bit more colour sense than the previous owners.
Like your wall colour choices and decor. Wish I could get my place looking so neat! Need to sit down and come up with a plan... Basically it's called get rid of stuff. I have too much stuff.

Thanks Peanut! I love picking paint colors and this house's walls have needed lots of brightening. I am a major fan of getting rid of stuff - physical clutter stresses me and I would rather bless someone else with the stuff. It does take a mindset and time but it's worth it.

I got the baseboards and doors taped off in the craft room. Need to take a pry bar to the brackets holding up a shelf over one of the windows, fill holes, and sand. Then ready for primer maybe one day this weekend.

Got the carpet ripped out of my living room, but haven't decided yet where I want to go from here, so that project is on hold.
My project, to the end of June, is to set up my kitchen to make it a little more conducive to preparing raw vegan food, which I find I am becoming a little obsessed about.
I got a Vitamix blender for my birthday (woo hoo!!!), so I want to have a prep area with my juicer and my blender, so I can easily prepare (and more importantly, clean up after) my daily green juices and smoothies. I have a counter in mind, but it is currently the counter I use to store all the pet supplies on, so some reshuffling is in order in order to get some order <g>.

Awesome, madhen! Glad you got that carpet out and hope you find a way to set up your juice prep area!
I got the wall shelf down today and spackled the holes. If all factors hold true, I can prime and paint this weekend. Got some paint chips to inspire me.

I primed the craft room (yay!) but after cutting in the yellow paint, I see it's gonna take 2 coats (boo!).

Since I am trying to be ultra-frugal this month, my challenge is going to be the general de-cluttering of my house. Today's project is the laundry room.

I got one coat of paint on the craft room walls. July's goal will be applying a second coat and hanging the curtain rods.

Wow, this thread is quiet! Here is my progress:
- craft room completely painted
- curtain rods and valances hung in craft room
- bought 9 baskets at Dollar Tree to add to shelves I already had for cubbies to store craft supplies
- recovered one window shade with green fabric and one to go; need flat trim for scalloped edge
- hung 2 pictures downstairs
- put a wreath in the bathroom
- made seashell art for bathroom
- repurposed a candle topper and base to hold cotton balls for bathroom by using a Goodwill vase in the middle
- ordered a ceiling fan on sale for one bedroom, picked out ceiling fans for other rooms to buy later

Way to go MyMel! I'm on vacation right now, so no time to do anything or way to do it.
Will get back at it when I arrive home.

We just returned from vacation a few weeks ago, peanut!
Today I will be helping DH with replacing ceiling fans. We've got rain on the forecast, so I am not sure if the shelf will get repainted this weekend.

I'm home now, but my week ahead is a zoo! No time for home organizational projects.
Will get back to them after we pay off vacation.
