My January goal will be decluttering the kitchen cabinets and possibly installing something to organize food.

Started on the kitchen cupboards yesterday....

Tackled the worse one and purged all the old lids, broken pans and just junk out of there then scrubbed it all down.

Today I hit the cupboard above the fridge. All the extra stockpile of spices are kept in there and now are in easy reach and organized to be quickly pulled as needed.

I also cleaned out under the sink and one of the the small cupboards next to it. Items tossed, cleaned and organized.

The cupboard that houses the plates, glasses and mugs is also finished as the cookbook cupboard.

Making great headway but still quite a few cupboards plus the pantry to do!

Today I will be dragging everything out from under the cabinets at the far left end and either relocating it, trashing it, or placing it back in there more neatly after I wipe down the shelves with cleaner and re-smooth the scrunched shelf liner (which I will probably take out, wipe, and spray with Lysol to dry while I'm dealing with the items -- is that too OCD of me?).

Sounds very thorough! I find once I start this type of cleaning I get really OCD about it. I can completely ignore something for a year and then as soon as I start cleaning it, I suddenly want to take cotton buds and bleach to it.

Fridge freezer is almost defrosted. It put up a hell of a fight though. I'm going to clean it out once it has all stopped dripping...

Well, I got the tree and other Christmas decorations taken down today. That's a BIG one for me, usually it doesn't get taken down till I get so upset at myself that it is still up and I am embarassed to have people over, sometime in late Jan early Feb! LOL
While I did that, I organized where the Christmas stuff goes downstairs, so it is all together, and labeled even.

My project is my kitchen. Today, I went through my stuff and tossed some older things, put some other things into a thrift box. I am trying to minimize what I have in there without getting rid of anything I might need down the road!

Here are photos of the room swap. I still have two huge tubs of toys to give to friends for their kids.

My new project is going to be to focus on making Z and I's new bedroom more inviting as well as a few final cosmetic touches on the kids' rooms. (Curtains, wall decor, craft projects, tc.)

There is one in each of the kids' rooms. They are handy and I love that they take up no room on the floor!

I'm in! SD love your puppies! No, I can't have one. I'm allergic. But I love from a distance. Angus looks like he has real character.

You all are getting so much done so quickly! My organizational goals for January?

    • organize scrapbooking mess in dining room,
    • purge all the household binders and condense,
    • clean up basement & rearrange things for DH to set up a temporary workshop,
    • sew a new thicker lined curtain/drape for the bathroom.
