Declutter challenge-what's in your makeup bag?

YUCK! I cleaned out some old lipstick that I wouldn't be caught wearing and some EMPTY compacts. Why am I keeping trash? Another good reason to clean out your makeup as it can be hazardous to you if it is old or smelly. Eye infections are only the beginning. So clean out your makeup! And when you're done, CLEAN OUT YOUR PURSE! Old receipts, papers, expired coupons, pacifiers, and just plain JUNK! I am always rummaging through my purse for a pen, my cell phone just because there is so much trash and mess in there.

Here's a bonus question: What is the weirdest thing you found in your purse when you cleaned it out??

I don't wear makeup so I don't have a makeup bag to clean out. I have my few products in my bathroom cleaned out though - did that a while back and I know everything is still okay.

As far as the weirdest thing I've found when cleaning out my purse............. I don't know. I don't really stick anything out of the ordinary in there.

Well I don't have a purse just a wallet that I use when I go out,

But I should clean out my makeup bag..I know I've already thrown out a couple things, But I have a feeling there are things in there I just don't use anymore, that and I need to find my eye makeup brush thing

Ok, I found a roll of tums in there, and a bunch of my daughters hair things, bobby pins, and a tube of concealer that I got as a free sample that isn't my color, so those are getting put somewhere else..

I also found an eyeshadow color I like that I'd forgotten about that was way at the bottom

Funny you should mention this. I just finished cleaning out my makeup drawer. I don't carry anthing but lipstick in my pruse anymore but I do wear makeup occasionally.

You are right about it being toxic at times. You should never keep cosmetics beyond their expected life. Most of the time you don't know how long that is but you can pretty well figure if you have had it more than 3 months and you put it on your eyes, you better replace it. Also never add water to mascara to make it last longer. It breeds bacteria.

This is one area where I'm not cluttered

I only have one of each in a bag that's ready to bring everywhere with me if I want to go out all day (one eyeliner, lipstick, powder, mascara, and blush). I have only one of each in a different color family in another bag that I keep in my bathroom. So I really only have 2 of everything (but in different colors/shades).

My pocketbook? Hmmm....I found some apple jacks in there that spilled out of a plastic baggie when I brought the kids a snack. That's about as weird as it gets around here

Luckily, I don't have much make-up; 2 shades of lipstick, clear mascara, 2 shades of eyeliner, some eyeshadow, a compact and lip gloss. I clean it out every month or so, when I think of it. I've tossed some *interesting* stuff (i.e. crusty glitter, mashed eyeliner) that I'd gathered over time.

My pocketbook is pretty uncluttered, at the moment. Various membership cards, ID, some pennies... NO money!

I think the weirdest thing I've found is crushed up crackers in the change compartment. Still not quite sure how they got there...
