Article: Wow your Home with Whimsy
Does anything in your home make your guests say "Wow!", "Neat", or "How creative!"? If not, then it's time to add a bit of whimsy. We have all heard that our homes should reflect our personality. We all have a sense of humor (let's hope so!), so our homes should have a sense of humor too!
Here are some easy ways to Wow your home with whimsy:
* Cut out a wavy edge from a shelf that is normally square
* Don't paint it white, paint it bright!
* Where one would expect to see a door, hang a curtain.
* Why paint on canvas when you can paint a mural on your wall!
* Put a nude greek statue or a bobble-head character in your guest bathroom
* Toss a red heart shaped pillow on a bed and a smiley face pillow on the sofa
* Were you going to paint stripes? Paint swirls instead.
* Don't just put that flower in a vase. Instead submerge the whole flower in water (most flowers thrive covered in water!)
* Paint a chalkboard wall in the kitchen and have continuous fun with it!
* Use a fishing pole, golf club, bamboo, or rope as a curtain rod
* Plant flowers in an old boot or a canister
* Make refrigerator magnets out of costume jewelry
The list is endless! Use your creativity to reflect your personality with small touches of whimsy in every room. Transform yawns into smiles and laughter. You're guests will never get bored and you'll have fun daring to be free!
So lighten up a little, laugh a little, and go out on a whim!

This is something I'm always afraid to try, and yet when I walk into someone's home that has done something whimsical, I love it. Maybe when I re-decorate, I will try some of these.

I saw a great idea in a convenience store bathroom, they used galvanized roofing as a wal covering below the chair rail. Abouve it is decorated with Coca-Cola memorabilia on an ivory colored wall.
I'm going to do this in my Master Bathroom with reproduction antique postcards above the chair rail.
I can't wait.
