    Default made this today

Could not bring myself to spend 20 bucks on the one they sell on tv, so made one of my own, I used a 3 liter soda bottle, lined it with a coffee liner, poked the plant thru, filled with good potting soil, and hung it up. I used a small tomato variety, hope a can get the pix to load.

    Very cool!!!
    Love the recyling!!

Just want to remind you to keep it watered- especially on hot summer days. the roots will cook quickly.

you will notice the water dripping out of the neck of the bottle- to keep this to a minimum- do this.

Cut off the top of another bottle, jug etc. Poke some holes for drainage on the bottom of the jug. Place the bottom part of the jug on top of your potted bottle. fill with water- this will be a drip irrigation for your plant.

But be sure to use water soluable fertilizer more frequently in this situation- because of the flushing effect you will get.

That is a neat idea!!! Can you really grow tomatoes upside down like that? Probably a dumb question huh...I usually plant my cherry & grape tomatoes in 5 gallon pails and sit them on my deck. But, if you can hang them I could do that too and free up some deck space....

The reason I don't plant is because the squirrels eat everything. this is a perfect solution. Thanks!

Way to go. You are a genius and kept your $20 to boot.
