    Default Potting soil.

I want to grow a tomato plant in a big pot. I have some potting soil, but it's that kind with the little white beads in it... should I pass on that soil and get some that isn't all treated up?

I have a tomato plant that is looking pretty strong in its pot (I used regular potting soil with the same white things), already started flowering. This is my first year gardening though so I'm really not sure just wanted to add my experience.

Ok thanks. I was just wondering if the maters would be okay to eat. I really wasn't sure what goes into the potting soil, kwim?

That white stuff in the soil is actually a good thing. It helps the soil retain water.
