Finally benefiting from our garden
Today we picked 3 onions and 1 tomato. I know it isn't much, but it is a start. DH chopped up an onion to enjoy. I am so glad to know that we will be eating from the garden before long. Our squash just started growing too. Right now they are baby squash. I can't wait until it has grown big enough to pick. Yum!
So, how are your gardens coming along?~*Michelle*~

Fresh tomatoes and onions sound so good, mom23boys.
I have one sad little tomato plant in a topsy-turvy (one of those upside down growing things). It is so leggy but only has one little bloom on it. I want so much for this to work!

I'm so jealous. I picked one our onions the other day, and it was tiny, but I ate it anyway. We have all of our plants, just waiting on the weather to dry out.

I am jealous too! I dont even have a garden
My dogs would ruin it plus our backyard probably isnt even big enough for a garden, but one day I will have one, when we move of course.

Congratulations on your growing garden. Don't you appreciate food so much more when it's grown in your own garden?!!!

Oh I know you are excited ! I can't wait for our tomatoes to be ready. I think I go out and stare at those baby ones like ten times a day LOL
I did dig up 6 lbs new potatoes yesterday. I gave my MIL a couple pounds and I cooked some kinda boiled steam with butter , pepper and salt. Potato soup is next.
Also picked enough sqash for me to eat. Only me and my son here and he wont touch a squash unless i fry it.
Interesting to hear what everyone is growing and what's getting ready.
Anyone else got stuff ready yet?Change Jar - 239.00 ~ March 18 , 2006

I've been eating salad with onions and "radish thinnings" for about a week now. mmmmmmmmmmm
It will be awhile, but soon I'll have yellow squashes, green squash, tomatos, yellow peppers, rasperberries, blueberries, strawberries......cantelope....watermelon (I hope I havent; left anyone out!
)
edit: oh, and though not technically in my garden, my salads have also been including my mung bean sprouts that I sprout on my counter
oh, yea, and potatoes....never done those before, but I have 5 plants, so we shall see!

Mine is still a baby garden. But I do have 2-3 green peppers already starting. They are the size of large peas right now lol. Other than that, the yellow squash, tomatoes, and broccoli are barely big enough to talk about. Especially the broccoli. I've never tried growing it before, I'm not sure if it's doing well or not.

It is really interesting to see what others are growing and when they are planting them. I guess I just assume because we have planted our garden that everyone else has too. I keep forgetting that it is still cold in some places.

I am jealous! (: We just planted! I have tomatoes and peppers started indoors, waiting to be transplanted. Tons of basil indoors, and we have started potatoes, spinach and peas outside, (a few weeks ago). We just now planted our corn, winter and summer squash, cucumber, melon, radish, carrot, beet... what am I forgetting?
Well, Happy Gardening everyone!
