How do I get rid of Borage?
Hi all! and Happy Memorial Day!
Okay first off a warning
DO NOT PLANT BORAGE!
It's one of the most invasive herbs ever! Mom planted some in the garden to keep some garden pest a bay but the down side is definitely not worth it! The plant reaches a height of about 5 ft tall and spreads like a disease! Forget about digging it up you'll never get all of the root.
Any ideas on how to get rid of it? At the end of the growing season do I need to get one of those products that heat the soil and therefore purifies it?
thanks

Inject it into the stems with a needle and syringe.
(need me to mail you one? ;-) )
DIE BORAGE DIE!
If you call your local Extention office they may have an better idea. http://extension.osu.edu/
But that's what I did when we had a prolific Japanese vine that just was overtaking the place. After years and gallons, we finally tracked it down to a HUGE mother plant in the next yard. We told the CHINESE people who lived there~ that this was a JAPANESE invasive plant and they need to kill it.
Done. It's all in the way you word things.. I guess.
Vinegar. I LOVE vineger.

it self seeds. like mad.
rip 'em out when babies.11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I just came across this post - in search of my tomato experiment... and I wondered... how the heck the Borage is doing? (hopefully 'lack of Borage' is doing?)
Please update if you can.

Geoffann,
If you're anywhere in New England, can you give me some? I can't keep it alive here, it just sprouts and then dies....
PM me.
Thanks, whether we can help each other out, or not!
