Default Posted some pics of our garden~Updated~ Again

in the Gallery for those who'd like to see.
In it are: 3 kinds of tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cukes, zucchini & swiss chard.

We also have some mesclun mix greens growing in one oak barrel & chives & tarragon in another. Mint is growing like crazy too.

Trying something different with some basil, instead of growing it in the garden I've got it in a small oval spot near the back door. in the middle are the basil plants and along the edge as a border are alternating alysum and salvia. It should look really neat when the basil grows... deep green of that and the vibrant white of the alysum and red of the salvia. I'll get a pic of it later so you can see what I mean.

I am jealous! I want a garden so bad, with tomatoes here at $3 a pound = 1 tomato, I am freaking out... I love tomatoes... and I cook with onions and peppers all the time.

    I love your garden!

Your garden is lovely. Thanks for sharing. I'm hoping to have one like it next year. This year ours is very small.

It is a glorious garden Darlene. I'm sure you're a happy barefoot gardener out there.

Your garden looks awesome! I love swiss chard. There are so many things you can do with it. I make swiss chard enchiladas. Yummy!

Thanks for all the kind words!

For those of you who want a garden but don't have one yet, I hope you can soon.

Easily amused Larabelle? I get like that sometimes too.

Heather, we got ours from a local grower (in 6 packs) & moved them up to bigger pots and stuck them in the cold frame til they couldn't fit anymore and the danger of frost had passed. Hope yours make it. I had to open the cold frame every morning so they wouldn't bake. They are easy to build and really are handy.

Swiss Chard Enchiladas? Please tell me more!

I'll add more pics as things grow and we start harvesting.

Thank you! I always find pictures even more inspiring than stories, and knowing what to look for helps too.

Added some updated pics so you can see how things are growing. 17 days can make a big difference.
Only thing off to a slow start are the cukes. Everything else (including weeds ) is growing great guns. Just need to click the little box like things under my award case.

Your garden is huge and so cool. I just have a small raised bed where currently the only crop doing well is the strawberries.
