My first garden!
I did it - I planted my first vegetable garden!
I bought plants from a farmer, so they already had a healthy start but I am afraid I have way too many tomatoes and peppers. He was selling them both in 8 packs.
I also have a pumpkin plant, two zucchini plants and 8 green bean plants.
I dug out a small corner of my yard. It is near the chainlink fence for the beans to grow.
Thus far I have watered it each day and things are still green ( a boon for me - I tend to NOT have a green thumb)
This is my way of getting revenge on DD12 who says, "Mom, stop going to the nursery - your scaring those poor flowers who think you might buy them and bring them home to certain death!"
Thanks, kid.

Here's hoping you scare them into producing food for you all.
They better or else!

Well, thus far it has only been in for a few days. However, since they have been there the plants are looking a little perkier - I was worried for the first couple of days, since they looked kind of sickly. Transplant shock, maybe?

I'm a first year veggie gardener also, although I've been gardening flowers for years. Its pretty cold here, so very few plants have been moved outdoors yet. I've got tons started indoors though just waiting for the soil to warm up. Good luck!

Way to go, Karen! I can't wait to see how your garden does.

I'd load pics if I could figure out how to get them from the camera into the computer -- you know me, hopelessly computer illiterate!
