    Default dang Bugs.

    Bugs Bunny that is.. Those furry little varmints mowed down the beets last night. Nothing but nubs left.

    And the doves just love dusting themselves in the fine loose soil in the strawberries and second planting of carrots.

    And the plastic bags fluttering in the wind did NOTHING to deter them. I am going to put up a fence tomorrow, but don't know what to do about the doves. Any suggestions?

    What about hot pepper sprinkled around the strawberry plants -for the doves? I can imagine that would scare them away...

    How about staking down some burlap or landscape fabric around them? the ground can still get water and they can't play in the dust.
