    Default Question about growing rhubard

I received a rhubarb plant this spring. He isn't looking so hot. The leaves keep turning either yellow or a reddish color and then they die and more will grow. There is also some sort of a bulb sticking out by where the stocks are growing. It looks like a dead rose sticking out of the ground but it is a part of the plant.

Anyone have any advice or tips on how to grow rhubarb? He is in full sunlight and gets watered daily when it is hot. He's also in really good garden soil.

My MIL's rhubarb does very well. It is shaded for the majority of the day under some trees.

I planted 2 starts this spring. Both are in a very sunny and pretty wet area. I haven't watered since the day I planted. It's doing great. My parents had theirs planted mainly in the shade. Do recall any special care.

I was given 2 rhubarb plants 3 years ago and the first year they grew a little bit. The 2nd year they were completely trampelled due to renovations, I wasn't sure they would survive. But this year they are growing like crazy. I was told that rhubarb was pretty hardy and would survive pretty much anything. You might not get anything from the plant this year but next year you should.
