    Default Corn didn't pollinate properly

Well darn, we got so much rain every day that my corn didn't pollinate properly. Only about half the cob developed kernels. IF I had just planted a month earlier this wouldn't have happened. I need to remember the rainy season. But on the up side my squash are giant!
Oh and the kernels that did develop are so tasty sweet. The kids just ate right of the stalk, no need to boil.
I'm going to start a diary of my garden. When I planted , what I did how much rain we got and what day I harvested. That way I can tweak it for the following year.

Dont feel bad, I'm new to this Florida gardening, I learned to garden up north, plant in spring, finish in october. I just found out we plant tomatoes, cukes and peppers twice a summer here.
so last week I started a bunch of plants to transplant next month

So yeh I planted 4 rows of corn, some of it sprouted, most of it not so much. I had one regular garden and one raised bed squarefoot garden. the regular garden is about worthless so I'm going to build about 6 raised beds and do it that way from now on.

Sounds like it is good if you can eat it without boiling! We too got our garden out late with DH's MS so everything is going to be late here. The only thing I've gotten so far are some radishes. The tomatoes have blossoms but no tomatoes yet. Squash plant is huge and lots of blooms. Corn is getting tall but I haven't checked it to see if its gonna produce. I can't wait to can and eat what we grow!

Our corn got knocked over last night with some major wind. everything is so wet right now. We are going to wait until it's dried some and then try to sit it back up. It has fallen over on top of the peas. So if we just leave it we'll probably lose all the corn and all the peas.

We do have some baby bell pepper AND hopefully some potatoes. The carrots are always iffy. We lost most of the broccoli - I think 1 of the 6 will make it.

I feel so sad for you. I hate when I spend my energy growing and then get little to nothing out of it because of mother nature.

I only do raised beds here. It's easier on my back , helps keep weeds down and I can use better quality soil. The ground is too much sand.

I can't wait to have a house so I can do raised gardens. Hopefully I'll be able to grow a lot more of our veggies then
Hope the rest of your garden goes great Ann!
