Hoooly...I am JUST posting the first pics from the garden this year. Last year we had a surplus at this time. For now everythings all 'green' as its not fully ready for the pickin's LOL I created an album for y'all to view

It looks wonderful. What is the round ball growing down in the first picture though? It kind of looks like our watermelons did but they don't grow up in the air. Hope you get a great harvest.

I "think" its a wintermelon. Round like a watermelon, fuzzy and prickly on the outside with white coarse fuzz and the flesh is white on the inside with seeds. Kind of like a pumpkin - the seeds part that is. Its a bland tasting melon...I've only ever had it boiled in broth as a soup and it has a mushy texture. Hard to describe unless you've tried it.
