First bloom for 2008. The poppies hide the tulip bed until the vegetation is finished. These poppies self-seeded from 2007. All Papaver somniferum poppies have the same vegetation. These are the poppies that produce poppy seeds sold in food stores. Many of the flowers have the dark basal marking in the form of a cross.

bootiful, but don't get arrested! (wink) those are opium poppies...
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I know. This is the same type of poppy that supports the Taliban financially in Afghanistan, by the EU upright citizens buying the illegal product. North America gets their supply from Columbia.

It takes thousands to produce any quantity of opium, and much labour. These plants are not illegal to grow in Canada, but if I had thousands no doubt would get a visit from big brother.

All the seeds in bulk stores are from the Papaver somniferum culivar, and do grow if planted.
