Congratulations!! There is something VERY cool about being able to collect your own eggs. I have a small flock, and I haven't had to buy eggs at the store for years. I always feel a little smug when I pass the poor suckers checking those cardboard cartons of old, pale-yolk, eggs. They don't know what they are missing. It's like comparing garden tomatoes to supermarket tomatoes. They are like two different items.

I am so jealous of your eggs. My husband doesn't want any chickens so I have to buy mine from the local Amish. They are delicious but I want to walk out back and get my own eggs. Hopefully #2 will start laying for you.

Congratulations. I would like to eventually get some chickens. I remember going out and collecting the eggs at my grandparents house. I loved that as a child.
