Default Several steps closer to self sufficiency

Today i hit the jack pot!!!! I have been watching the fruit trees at lowes and last week they were 25% off this week they were 50% off. Well i decided to go inside and ask when they thought the trees would go to 75% off. Manager said probably this weekend BUT i would let you get any trees that you want at 75% off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So off to shop i went i ended up with the following the following trees:

    2- red delicious
    1- red fuji
    3- peach trees
    2- bartlett pear trees

    For a grad total of

    $37

I was soo excited so here is my start!!!!!!!!

Tracy, I lived in a townhouse with a tiny yard in Maryland a few years ago. A previous owner planted two peach trees, which bore bushels of fruit and were maybe 8' tall. Perhaps they would work for you?

My mom got some great deals about 2 years ago on dwarf apple and dwarf pear trees at Home Depot. They weren't HUGE, but they seem to be doing well in her yard (one pear in particular).

    Thumbs up

Great job on the bargain hunt. Please do not make the mistake I did. My orchard lanquished for years until I learned about pruning, fertilization, pest control, etc. But I can say, there is no better feeling than wailing into your orchard and enjoying a beautiful ripe apple. Best of luck to you.

That sounds very cool!!! I want a pear, and an apple tree at some point. Even more I want berry bushes. Lots of berry bushes. I need to get all the trees currently living in my yard out first though.
