Default Who was asking about Lasagna Gardening??

I know I read someone was interested in it . . . and now I can't find the post. I meant to find some pics of ours; we've been lasagna gardening for 2 years now. Anyway, I have pics somewhere is the OP is interested.

I read and purchased the book lasagna gardening. I cant wait to start on mine. I'm going to let my little girls have 2 spaces.

I was really interested in it because it is supposedly a "no till" form of gardening.

I'm going to have a traditional garden and a lasagna garden this year to see if it's feasible for me to incorporate more.

I have a small space in my front yard for a flower lasagna garden.

Okay, let me find a link for more info. I got my book at an estate sale for 50 cents . . . it has a plethora of useful gardening info in it . . . I reference it all the time. You basically layer organic material upward instead of tilling down in the ground to garden.

The book is called Lasagna Gardening by Patricia Lanza. I highly recommend it.

Misti, were you the one who posted about it? I can't remember where I saw the post. Anyway, we love lasagna gardening . . . number one, we are lazy. Secondly, it really produces wonderfully for us (and through very frugal means too). Let me dig around and see if I can find those pics from the first year. We've added two more large beds since then )one for asparagus and one for strawberries)and a bunch of small beds for blackberries, blueberries and black currants.

Fiddlesticks, all I've found was pics from about two weeks after we planted the first year. Well, at least it gives you an idea. I'll keep looking for a better pic . . . one further in the season when the plants are going hog wild. And pardon the grass; dh despises the weed whacker.

Might have been me. I know i was talking about it somewhere. But now I cant remember. I'd love to see your garden. I think it's something my little girls would love to be able to do too.

DH wants to let them have a little square foot lasagna garden and incorporate square foot with the lasagna method.

I've been reading some books/articles about biointensive gardening too. I'm all for getting more stuff with less ground and work kwim?

Oh, thank you! We have been debating putting a few more in this year too. You really will love it . . . especially if you combine it with the square foot gardening techniques. And since you pressure can, you'll be ready. I cannot tell you how many batches of tomato sauce we had this summer. I didn't can any, but, man, I wish we had. The store bought stuff just isn't nearly as good.

We plan on switching over to this method this year. We didn't have the room for it before we took our trees down, but now, we have a sunny corner of the yard to build up the beds and keep them seperated.

I'm excited about doing it, it'll be so much easier to get to everything! As it is right now, when I get into my garden in the thick of growing season, I am always stepping on something!
