    Smile Before you buy seeds

As I was eating my breakfast and reading my Organic Gardening magazine, I found an interesting website...gardenwatchdog.com.

" It's almost sowing time. Before you order seeds this season, find out what other gardeners have to say about the mail-order and online nurseries. Dave's Garden Watchdog is a free directory loaded with customers' reviews of the quality, prices, and service of 6,557 vendors. Visit gardenwatchdog.com to find new top-rated companies and products and share your own experiences."

Thanks for posting, good information to have for those that order their seeds. I have already planted my spring garden and try to buy as many seeds as I possibly can (about 90%) from local suppliers and growers. I have found I get the best results and know the seeds I am getting are known to grow well in my area.

A word on some of the negative feedback on there though, not every seed will grow and one persons bad luck with a packet of seeds doesn't mean it's a bad company. Also if someone buys a bag of bulbs on clearance well after the season and they don't "take" as well as that person would like them, and they give them negative reviews, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do business with that company. IMHO some people on there gave extremely petty reasons for negative feedback instead of using their common sense on some things. However if the company does generally bad business and it's obvious, stay away from them.

Dave's is a great site. Yeah, people have different reasons for leaving good or bad feedback, but if you read enough comments you can tell which are the bad ones and which aren't.
