The hardest part is waiting for everything to produce. Your patience will be rewarded. Congratulations on the new edible landscape.

Did you order them from Raintree?

Do you know which nuts beside hazelnuts grow well in the PacNW? I would love to get a couple of nut trees. All I'm growing now is sunflowers.

I have a 5 way apple, 3 plums, 3 pears, 3 blueberry (one early, one mid and one late season) and about 40 feet of raspberries. I am putting in grapes this year that were grafted last year. Everything except the apple and blueberries were given to me and I bought those with a gift card that was given to me. The plums and pears were grafted from Raintree stock.

I just put the fruit in last year and I got tons of raspberries (although I was told that they wouldn't produce the first year) and ONE plum. Just one little plum. I am hoping that the fruit does well this year.

Let us know when your goodies come in.

Good for you! We've been planting 2 to 4 new ones each year and now have Almonds, Apples, Aronias, Asian pears, Thornless Blackberries, Boysenberries and Loganberries, Blueberries, Cherries, Satsuma mardarin, currents, Fig, Gooseberries, Grape , Guomi, Hazelnut, Honeyberries, Huckleberries, Loquat, Mulberry, Nectarines, Olive; Paw paws, European pear, Persimmons, Peaches, Pecans, Plums, Prune -French, Raspberry, Saskatoons, Service Berry and Strawberries, all on one acre. It is so great to be able to watch them bloom and grow and pick your own fruit at the peak of ripeness.

Yep..Raintree! I've had the best luck with their plants surviving. And they're just so darn nice!

English Walnuts and presumably black walnuts also do well here..I don't think it's dry enough for pecans or almonds here.

That is such exciting stuff. Grats on your trees!!!

When we bought this house, it came with a plum tree, an apricot tree (we think), strawberry patch, established grapevines, golden raspberries & red raspberries. We also toted 1700 miles- 2 blueberry bushes, 2 Meyer lemon bushes, a dwarf owari satsuma orange & another grapevine.

How exciting! I bet you can't wait until they arrive so that you can plant them.
