Default I am now the proud owner of 2 laying hens!

And one has already laid an egg! Whoo!

We got them from a friend who brought them today. Now if I can get the dogs under control we'll be in excellent shape!

I'm envious as well. We currently live in an apt and I can't have chickens but when I move into my own home (years from now) I will have some. I love fresh eggs and I know I can get chicks at a fairly reasonable price around here. Good luck on your new chickens!!

Have you thought about a rooster to protect them if you allow them to range feed?
