    Default Brush burning recipies

When I was small, I remember my grandfather burning leaves in the late fall or spring. When burning, he added potatoes wrapped in tin foil and a cast iron pot and few other things (I was probably about 5 when he passed so the memory is very faded) and when the leaf pile burned away, we had a special little meal ready for us to eat. To this day the memory sits with me.

I'm not nearly such the homesteader that I know how to cook on hot coals - but we have four more weeks of brush burning ahead of us (and easily enough old brush on the farm to burn every weekend.

Anyone have any suggestions on what or how to make a meal off of our brush burning pile?
