    Default Pulsatilla vulgaris (Pasque Flower)

    Pulsatilla vulgaris (Pasque Flower)
http://www.durgan.org/URL/?Pulsatilla 18 April 2009 Pulsatilla vulgaris (Pasque Flower, Common Pasque flower, Dane's Blood)

There are two clumps in the garden. They are early Spring bloomers and most attractive. The pasque flower is the official state flower of South Dakota and the provincial flower of Manitoba.

Do htese come back every year? We need some flowers that come back each year in our flower bed. We can't get much to grow even though we have the plastic down with dirt and mulch. Any suggestions for flowers? I kill air ferns so my dh will be taking care of them.

Apparently the Pulsatilla vulgaris is a perennial. I now want a bigger clump. They are most welcome at this time of year after a dreary, long Winter.

Those are really pretty flowers. I am glad that you put the other name in parenthesis because at first I thought it was some kind of female problem. ha ha.
