    Default my tiller came!

EEeeeee!!! I'm excited to finally have it! We're going to assemble it tonight. It's supposed to be nice and dry all week, so I have a few days to get the garden cleaned up and maybe I can get it tilled and planted before we leave for the weekend. At least tilled, anyway.

Come on! What are the details. Type, Price, Hp, etc. Why did you choose this particular one? How many square feet is your garden?

    It's a Mantis electric tiller: http://mantis.com/etiller.asp

Aside from being a girl I have a bad wrist on one side and a torn shoulder on the other and there's no way I can use anything that starts with a pull cord. So I got the electric.

My garden is small by most of your standards, maybe 8x15 feet but that's because I've dug it entirely by myself with a shovel. I enlarge it a few feet every year but I'm really tired of doing it by hand. I'm hoping the tiller reduces my workload a lot. Last year I mixed in over 100lbs of compost with a shovel...

I put some pictures in my gallery, which I think is here: http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/...hp?albumid=196

Last year's garden looked pretty good at one point and then we got so much rain everything just rotted. The chard, lettuce and carrots were the only good crops I had.

Dibbs,I call Dibbs on borrowing it. It's just a short drive and I'll be really careful and bring it right back. Honest. ( Remember when we were kids and that really got us somewhere)lol. Seriously, congrats on your new toy. I have always wanted one but since we live in glacial drift and we have clay..I'd need something akin to a bulldozer. Have tons of fun with it!

It looks like the perfect choice tiller for your situation. Life takes on a whole new dimension with one of those small tillers. I would quit gardening without my Honda FG110 small tiller.

I have a mantis! Only it is gas powered. I love it,
You are going to fall in love with yours too! We use it alot, and its easier to use, sometimes better than dragging out the big front tine one. You are going to have a blast doing your garden!
Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.
