I took the little bands off the wings today. I was afraid that I might hurt them getting them off but they seem to be fine after the ordeal was over. They are so cute and so sweet I can not wait till they are big enough to go outside.

They grow so incredibly fast. Right now though is the best time to induldge those nurturing instincts. Payback is certainly worth it though. You will never want to eat store eggs again.

Well I doubled my flock I got 4 more pullets. I had to go out of town with my job all last week and my son took care of my baby girls. One of the guys at work gave me another baby girl and on my way home yesterday I stopped and got three more. The un-built coop is getting larger every day.

LOL, it's funny how fast "just one more" becomes twenty, lol. Enjoy them!! My girls are so great, providing around three or four eggs a day for us. I love having them. PLus a bonus is that they eat vegie scraps and stuff and I can compost their..."leavings" into useable stuff for the garden.

    Help!
Ok went today to start getting lumber for the chicken house.
    I am thinking about making it 5 x 8 .
That would mean 2- 4x8 sheets of plywood for the floor the remaining 3 foot of plywood I would use on the nesting boxes
3 sheets fake barn wood for walls four foot tall.
Would like to build it as cheaply a possible.
Thought about making a hoop coop.
    What do you all think?
Did you build a chicken house coop?
I am open for any suggestions.
Thanks in advance for any help.
