This delicious stir fry plant germinated in about 8 days. The plant is quite large and certainly is one of my favorite stir fry greens. To mature properly growing space is essential. I separate five or six inches.Durgan

Love pak choy - never thought of growing it. First need to see what we can do with what we planted at school!!

Awesome. I enjoy pak choy and was able to find some seedlings but it was too cold and rainy to plant them in the bed so I established them in a container on my porch. I'm thinking that was a mistake because since I transplanted them in their new raised bed, they have bolted and started to flower. I plucked off the flower tips but I don't know if that was the thing to do or not?!? So I guess I'll see how it goes.
Any suggestions Durgan? The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

Here is what the mature plant looks like.
Pak Choi, Joi Choi
Easy to grow and fast to mature.
Also known as bok choy or Chinese white cabbage. Pak choi is grown for its stalks which are used in oriental cooking. It is also delicious raw. Each plant bears 10-14 erect stalks, 8-10" long. Grows best in cool weather. Can be grown as a spring or fall crop.Durgan
