Is it just me
Or does canned and frozen foods put on a shelf of in the freezer look like eye candy.
When I make salsa or jelly I get such a rush from seeing the jars lined up in the stockpile.
Am I a nut or is this common to think they are "pretty"? Maybe it is also the feel of satisfaction you get from saying "Hey, I made that!"The math never lies, budget in INK!

No, I don't think that "gourmet" oils with herbs in the bottles sell so well because people don't like looking at them.
I really enjoy it when, after canning up a bunch of food, I can stock up the pantry and look at them. I even get a kick out of boring things, like taco sauce.

A well stocked pantry is always a sight to bring joy to my soul. However, when it's stocked with home made items - it's pure bliss. Yes, there is something about serving a meal with what you know was made with pure thought and love for your family. Tweaking things out to suit their tastes, to bring joy to even a basic pasta and sauce meal is as close to heaven a Mom can get from this side.

I agree. My freezer has soups and sauces that I have made and I feel good when I see them - it's a satisfied feeling. Haven't canned anything, but know that it would be empowering. You are not alone!!
