    The three plants started from seed in 2008 survived the Winter. The wire cages are to give as bit of support for the sprawling vegetation. Also called Goji plant or fruit is called goji berries.

    Did you have to do anything special to help them survive the winter? They even look kind of energetic.

    I did cover the base with wood chip mulch, but this probably did nothing positive. The plant may be very hardy. I know the plant has survived in Edmonton, since 1885, where they were planted by the Chinese railway workers, when laying the railway tracks across Canada.

    We see those all around here and DH knows of them because he was born and raised outside of Edmonton. I read up on the wolfberries and found a rather interesting article:
