Lamb's Ears (Stachys byzantina)
Lamb's Ears (Stachys byzantina)

This plant is grown for the flowers, which are a bee magnet. These plants are perennials and survived the Winter. In some climates the plant can be invasive. Mine does get larger each year, but I find it easy to contain to its allotted space.Durgan

I planted some yesterday.
I like the color and texture of the plant for my garden.

Flower stalks

The flowering stalks are forming. The plants are not covered with bees, since the weather is cold.Durgan

Those plants are so cute! I'd love to have some but I'm allergic to bees.

Nice color and they are popular here too.
I haven't managed to 'squeeze' any in yet as I wasn't sure that I needed too many more bees. When my lavendar and butterfly bushes get going it can be dangerous to even water them. I have gotten stung while watering my butterfly bushes but have to say the little devil 'buzzed' me twice to give me a warning. Honey bee too!!
