anyone have plum trees?
My plums are not blooming this year, are yours? I also have a huge apple tree that have maybe 12 blooms, I don't know what happened, I don't think they froze, because the pears , peaches and cherries are covered.
Any ideas?Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

Plum trees are not very long lasting. So may be you should look forward to plant fresh ones.

Our plum tree was absolutely covered with blossom this year (as it always is). However this is different in that we now have a tree covered with tiny plums. This is only the second time that we have so many. The tree is now around 10 years old.

My Plum tree seems to be doing fine. Lots of Blooms then lots of little plums. I've been too scared to try and cull some off, to get bigger fruits, as I'm not entirely sure of the best way to do it. Plus I figure I have to fight the birds and bugs for the fruits, so maybe smaller is better?
Our tree is 10+ years old (that's how long we've lived here, and I'm not entirely sure when it was planted)

DH stopped by a tree nursery. The guy there said to deep root fertilize and they will bloom. ??? they are all leafed out, have been for 2-3 weeks. I dont think they will bloom now?!
My trees are over 17 years old, thats how long we have lived here,, there are new ones coming up every year. I have, probably over 50 trees, I would think one tree would have a bloom on it. I also have them on all side of the property, so its not like they are planted in a bad spot. I just cant figure out whats wrong with them.Last edited by pinetree; 05-22-2009 at 12:07 PM.

I'm in WY, so not too far north of you. Mine is starting to bloom VERY lightly, but the apricot tree is loaded!

We do not have blooms on any fruit this year as we had a late frost. I missed having the blooms and will miss the fruit as well.
