Default A lovely surprise in my side garden!

Look at what I dug out of my side garden!

I would have spent all weekend trying to get that thing out. I dug about three feet down and had DH pull it out for me. I dug about as much dirt as I could to get it to where it would turn around in all four cardinal directions and then he had to use his knees to pull it out. It wasn't even attached to anything.

It's sitting out back behind my fence still. I measured the height and the bend comes to my chest. I'm just shy of 6 feet tall, so I'd say the entire piece is 7+ feet long.

It's a piece of rebar. I could keep it around the house and whack a prowler with it. It's pretty heavy.

At first all I saw was the fence and I couldn't understand why anyone would bury such a neat garden decoration!? After second loooong look I now see the bar. Can you somehow bend it a little more and make a plant hook out of it?

ROFL, I couldn't see it at first, then I was thinking maybe the fence was the object. LOL NOW I see the rebar clear as day! I need my coffee... i like the idea of a plant hanger!

I'd love to but we don't have a blow torch to bend it.

Do you know any teenage boys taking welding classes? They would probably do it for free if you asked. Maybe?

I think i'm more curious about why it was there than what it is! We found a skeleton key in the park one time. The kids got miles of imagination fun outta that one.

I wish I knew some local boys doing welding classes.

I'm almost afraid to find out what else is in there. My MIL jokes about dead bodies, so I wouldn't be surprised.

It is funny what you can find buried. Hopefully you can find a use for it.
