frugal fence
We are buying our first home, and we need to fence in the yard for the safety of our 2 year old son. We are in a suburban neighborhood, so it needs to be a good looking fence. DH wants wood, 6 feet in height. And ideas on how to do this without spending as much as we paid for the house, lol?

If you are not opposed to spending the time......try Craigslist......or maybe freecycle......but you would be using used lumber and probably have to pick through it for any problem pieces.
Not sure about your area but check on the 'legal height' if you are going in front with it. Where I live it can't be over three feet high in the front yard or if you are coming from the back anywhere past the front of your house.
Can you really have a 6 foot fence in front or were you just talking about the backyard? If the front......I am soooo envious....would love a six foot fence in front.

Absolutly try freecycle. We hooked up with a fence installer and he now calls me wwhen he is taking down good fence and it gets passed all over this town. Also post your looking for it on freecycle. You might be pleasantly surprised.
