Watering Plant Roots

This method gets water to the root area of the plants. The hydraulic effect of the water makes pushing the wand into the ground effortless. The device is made by cutting off the end of a typical water garden wand as sold in most hardware stores.Durgan

For my container garden...
I read an article that instead of putting those watering bulbs in each one, use an olive oil/wine bottle etc instead so I am trying this and it seems to be working. Take care and God bless.

Neat idea. Will have to make a note of it for future ref.
I have been using the 'cone things' that fit on the 2 liter bottles and have had good luck with that. But my ground is soooooooo rocky that I have bent a couple of the cone noses too.

I really like that method of sticking the watering hose right into the ground. Sadly, that wouldn't work too well since we only use rain water from the barrels now. I found out that with Calgary and their hard water, it's bad for the plants. I might try the wine bottle idea if I didn't have bulbs all the way down one row. That's a lot of bottles!
