    Default Black Mulberry (Morus nigra)

http://www.durgan.org/URL/?Mulberry 18 June 2009 Black Mulberry (Morus nigra)

Berry-like fruit, best eaten as picked, since they are very soft. It a fight to get the fruit before the robins. There are many of these trees growing on front lawns, and nobody eats the berries but me. The fruit is absolutely delicious.

My friend Julie has a very old mulberry tree in her yard. We love the berries and make both jam and pie from it. Unfortunatly the tree produces few and few every year.

Oh yum....you would have competition from me in eating them. I do love all the berries.

I have a HUGE mulberry tree in my backyard. I have made muffins with the berries, but I would LOVE a recipie for the Mulberry jam. Does anyone have one or can lead me to a link? They are just starting to ripen and fall now. My kids usually eat them right off the tree.
